Indigenous Herbal Healing traditions and their relevance to the present days
A journey of exploration into the herbal healing traditions of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Europe and America. We will look into the history and mythology of herbal healing, take a detailed look at some of the herbs used and their relevance to maintaining our health nowadays. Each day will have a practical component so that we will learn to make various preparations that can be used in the home and take a walk to visit the plants.

An evening course designed to empower you and increase your knowledge of our local medicinal herbs. How they can be used to enhance your health and well-being. Simple preparations that can be made to alleviate common problems in the home. Treating children.
Time: One evening a week to be confirmed.
Homeopathic treatment of pets and livestock
A one day workshop designed to help you look after your animals welfare using simple homeopathic remedies and essences. We will take a brief look at how Homeopathic Medicine was discovered and its Principles of use and how these can be utilised in enhancing the health of animals in our care.
Kitchen Pharmacy
A one day workshop following the traditions of the 'still-room' where the house keepers maintained the health of all in their care by using everyday ingredients that come easily to hand. We will explore all the magic that is hidden away in your store cupboard that is waiting to be utilised to maintain your families health and well being with a special emphasis on winter ailments.
Home-made Herbal cosmetics and gifts
A practical one day workshop where you will get to make some simple preparations which you can take home such as lip balm and hand creams etc
Growing your own food and medicines
A year course starting in Feb 2013 designed around the yearly seasonal planting cycle which will cover basic, very simple growing techniques. We will cover soil preparation, raised beds, salads, herbs, vegetables, preserving and storage of produce, permaculture, bio-dynamic cultivation, when to sow what etc. Participants will be mentored throughout the growing year, and it is envisaged that if you wish, you can also avail of raised bed that can be provided plus plants that will feed your family at very little cost or bother.
Time: A half day course every two/three weeks.
